At first glance, the name “nature’s prints” may be thought of as describing the product that is being sold, namely photographic prints of animals and landscapes. But nature’s prints has other meanings that relate to my philosophy of nature photography and reflect my artistic goals. A common saying in hiking circles, is “leave only prints.” This saying speaks to my thoughts on how people should interact with nature. It reminds me that when I am taking photographs, I am a guest. Special care should be taken to not disturb the animal or environment but leave only footprints. Footprints can also be used to tell what animals have been in the area by leaving an impression for others to see. I strive to capture images that will leave an impression of the animal and habitat as it was observed for others to see and appreciate. This website will provide galleries of photographs that are available for purchase in multiple medias. |
